Gua Sha Facial / Facelift

Facial Gua Sha is a gentle version of the Gua Sha applied to the body.  Gua Sha is a natural alternative therapy invented by the Ancient Chinese, which involves scraping the skin with a massage tool that is designated to stimulate microcirculation of the soft tissue, which increases blood circulation.   With Gua Sha we can address a wide variety of skin problems effectively.   You can see instant results, that have been observed, in erasing fine lines, puffiness and achieving a better complexion.  With additional Gua Sha sessions,  you will see the reduction of aging signs, such as wrinkles and sagging skin.

With my Facial Gua Sha technique with Acupressure, three things happen in the first session:

1.  The surface of the skin and particular acupoints are stimulated to increase blood circulation and the flow of "Chi" (which results in a better complexion and reduces various skin problems).

2.  Tense facial muscles are relaxed as pressure is applied (reduce depth of wrinkle lines).

3.  Stagnant lymph is activated to clear out toxins (which reduce puffiness).

The benefits that people can achieve with the Guas Sha Facelift:

Firms  up your sagging facial muscles.

Smooths the skin and reduces the appearance of wrinkles on your face.

Improves dark circles and bags under the eyes (the kind you get from advanced aging).

Lightens age spots and other skin discolorations.

Your complexion gets rosier and more radiant.

Helps to clear up acne, rosacea, and other skin diseases on your face.

Questions most often asked about a Gua Sha Acupressure Facial/Facelift:

Is a Gua Sha Facial / Facelift painful?

No.  it is not supposed to be painful at all.   You may notice the applied varied pressure.  There are areas that we may come across that you may feel a dull ache.  Those areas we need to work on the most because there may be a congestion of 'chi' (chi is the energy/life source through the meridians in the body) or an area of lymphatic blockage.  At these points I may need to scrape with lighter pressure and slower strokes to mitigate this particular problem, which may take a few sessions.  After a few sessions, working on these congested points, they will be clear and no ache/pain at all.

Does facial Gua Sha cause bruises?

Unlike body Gua Sha, I have special facial tools that are held at different angles and used with a lot less force for the facial sensitive areas.   Areas may become red, which is normal, but will go away quickly.

I DO NOT apply Gua Sha directly to any prior inflamed skin, such as acne, etc.

What is a Gua Sha tool?

There are many Gua Sha tools, for different areas of the body.  Ancient Chinese started with using ceramic spoons.  Other materials now used are jade, bian stone, wood, stainless steel among other materials.   I use Jade and Rose Quartz for the face. My tools are designed to fit the face, the facial contours.

I use stainless (Graston IASTM technique) tools for the other parts of the body.  (as well as bian stone)
